Meet Our Board Member

Aaniin bozhoo indinawemaaginodog,

My name is Christine Yungwirth and I am Sault Ste. Marie Chippewa. My previous work experience was at Oneida Head Start, Title VI, and now I am a full-time student at UW-Green Bay.

I received a Bachelors degree in First Nations Education with a minor in Women, Gender and Sexualities Studies in December 2023.

I’ll graduate in May 2025 with a Masters in Applied Leadership for Teaching and Learning with an emphasis in First Nations Education.

I am passionate about the work in our state around ACT 31 and educating others about Indian Boarding Schools and inter-generational trauma.

I am in the beginning stages of creating a non-profit with my cousin around revitalization, renewal and re-connection to our traditional ancestral ways, which includes ancestry and archival research, as well as educating about Indian Boarding Schools.
